AHVDTC provides truck driving lessons, training courses and testing in a range of trucks including Light Rigid (LR), Medium Rigid (MR), Heavy Rigid (HR) and Heavy Combination (HC).
All equipment and facilities comply with the strictest government regulations and workplace health and safety standards. As an RTO we are governed by AQTF to provide clear and concise course structures that enable our students to learn at their own pace.
Our training courses are all conducted under our scope of registration; this means that when a Heavy Vehicle Truck course is conducted with AHVDTC we provide a Statement of Attainment. This statement can be then be used towards Certificate 2 or 3 in Road Transport and Distribution.
A rigid vehicle with two axlesincluding truck and bus greater than 4.5 tonnes GVM but equal to or less than 8 tonne GVM and constructed to carry more that 12 adults (including the driver)
Must have held a driver licence for at least 12 months
½ day course conducted Monday - Saturday. Student/Instructor ratio 1:1
The course includes practical training in the Light Rigid vehicle, practical assessment, written test and a certificate of competence.

Any 2 axle vehicle, including truck and bus, greater than 8 tonnes GVM
Must have held a driver licence for at least 12 months
1 day course conducted Monday -Saturday. Student/Instructor ratio 1:1
The course includes practical training in the Medium Rigid vehicle, practical assessment, written test and a certificate of competence.
Cost: $650 (Mon-Fri) $750 (Sat)
Any rigid vehicle with 3 or more axles, including truck and bus, greater than 8 tonnes GVM.
Must have held a driver licence for at least 24 months
1 day course conducted Monday - Saturday. Student/Instructor ratio 1:1
The course includes practical training in the Heavy Rigid vehicle, practical assessment, written test and a certificate of competence.
Cost: $870 (Mon-Fri) $970 (Sat)
Any rigid vehicle with 3 or more axles, including truck and bus, greater than 8 tonnes.
Must have held a driver licence for at least 24 months
1 ½ day course conducted Monday - Saturday. Student/Instructor ratio 1:1
The course includes practical training in the Heavy Rigid vehicle, practical assessment, written test and a certificate of competence.

This course is for people who have previous training in the truck. We believe that if you can demonstrate to our assessor your skills and knowledge you can then undertake the theory and practical assessment. This course is ideal for those who can already operate a truck but need to be licenced.
Cost: Licence Catagory per Hour plus $250.00 testing fee.

A deposit is required for all Heavy Vehicle Truck bookings; this deposit ensures that your booking is secure and must be paid at time of making your booking. The deposit amount is half of the course cost.Full payment must be made by the due date. If payment bythe due date does not occur,your booking will be automatically deleted from the course AND Cancellation policy will apply. AWFTC requires 7 clear days notice of cancellation.If you cancel between 1 and 7 clear days before your course,you will forfeit your deposit or be invoiced 50% of the Course cost. If you cancel within 24 hours of the course start time,or fail to attend at the start time on the day you will be billed for and held responsible for 100% of the course fees.
REFUND OF COURSE WILL NOT BE ISSUED WITHIN 7 CLEAR DAYS OF COURSE START
